Jealousy

What are the Yama's? The five yamas—kindness, truthfulness, abundance, continence, and self-reliance—are oriented towards our behaviours and allow us to coexist harmoniously with others.

During our practice, we are next delving into the final and 5th Yama-Aparigraha.

Aparigraha is about not grasping for what is not yours. Jealousy is probably the biggest form this plays out in our culture today. Just catch yourself with that awareness before you delve into jealous or envious thoughts about others. This can especially be applied within our asana practice. Allow this to be a space to go inwards. Even if you are practicing in a large class, try not to compare yourself to others. Aparigraha is about working within your own capacity, your own body and not reaching and grasping for what others have.

Accepting yourself for the amazing light and divine being that you are in each moment!

Tuesday night, we will work this Yama on the mat @ Yoga Peace Mullumbimby 5.30-7pm.

Just remember this is also a practice to play with outside in the world!

Blessings,
Seriya x

About Me

“The biggest journey in life is from your head to your heart."

I was exposed to the yogic lifestyle throughout my childhood, living with my parents in Ashrams throughout India, Australia and the US. My mother, Shachi, has been a strong influence in my life, as a healer and yogi she introduced me to Meditation, Yoga, Kirtan (chants) and Healing from a young age.

Also growing up in Rosebank, the hinterlands of Byron Bay...

Why 'Akshaya Healing'?

In our world today more and more of us are developing a need to connect with spirit, with our true selves and by working on our physical body, our energy body and spiritual journey we are cultivating an essential inner peace which subsequently helps in bringing peace to our planet.
