Coming up to the New Moon in Gemini, we will dive into the union of opposites within our yoga class. And very appropriately, Yoga means union, and Hatha, translates as the opposites, the sun and the moon.
Yoga is the path of finding yourself, not perfecting oneself. We are already perfect, it is just a matter of dropping the labels which we so easily associate through the pairs of opposites. The light and the dark, masculine/feminine, rational/intuitive, good/bad, happy/sad. Just remember that our soul is ever pure and perfect. It’s our minds that needs the work. Our mind gets caught up in the pairs of opposites and drags our emotions along with it. The result is suffering. We are the ones that suffer the most from the condition of our mind, though we usually are quite willing to share our suffering with others. Thus yoga says we must work on our mind.
Once we know your our Self, it is easy to see the divinity shining in everyone and everything. Then we cannot label anyone as bad or wrong. The labels disintegrate in the light of consciousness.
But we are all in progress with this. We are all learning, and no body is 'better' than anybody else. This is also a huge reminder for me, and thank you for giving me this opportunity each week to also tune in.
I invite you to join us tomorrow night, as we remind each other of this within our practice on the mat. And if not, just see this as a seed which has been planted to have this awareness through out your day.
